<reviews itemIdentifier="code_of_the_cactus"><review><reviewbody>Coming back to series westerns after a legal battle with Imperial Pictures, which he won, Tim McCoy launched into a long series for various companies. Most were directed by Sam Newfield and were of widely varying quality. This film isn't half bad. Its got all the right ingredients for a good Saturday Matinee western. McCoy is back as "Lightning Bill Carson" again in disguise as a Mexican. McCoy as a Latin is beyond belief, but it was done in several films. Go Figure. Ben Corbett as the sidekick has a pretty good role for a change. He's not a buffon here and quite a surprise to watch. The rest of the cast also professional. Great print and sound quality as well. Worth a look.</reviewbody>

<review><reviewbody>Tim McCoy as Miguel is almost beyond belief so much so that this might qualify as a cowboy comedy. But it is a typical "oater" for Saturday matinee fare and should bring back memories. Pretty good for that era and worth watching, if for no other reason than to see McCoy attempting to portray a Mexican with a bad accent.</reviewbody>

<review><reviewbody>They got me, I thought it might be a comedy with a name like "Code of the Cactus".
But they were serious, more or less.
It's okay.</reviewbody>
