  <description>Recordings from the first phase of the 2006 17 Tone Piano Project at Rice University, Houston, Texas.  Jacob Barton and Daniel Sedgwick play the two pianos (featuring a special appearance by Philip Cornell!), each of which is tuned to a subset of 17 equal tones per octave, such that the entire scale is accommodated between the two.&#13;

  <notes>Actual (pre-composed) pieces by undergraduate Rice composers:&#13;
- A place I haven't heard, Jordan Kuspa&#13;
- Faucet Leak, Angelique Poteat&#13;
- variation V from Xenharmonic Variations on a Theme by Mozart, Jacob Barton&#13;
- Eighty-one ninth chords, Jacob Barton&#13;
&#13;
The rest are improvised and vary in length.  In my opinion you have to wade through a lot of muck but it's worth the gems you find that couldn't have come about otherwise.&#13;

(All musics are here for your perusal perusal and perhaps seduction into participating in the Second Phase of the 17-Tone Piano Project. If you want to write a piece to be played, do contact udderbot at gmail dot com quickly!)</notes>
